Walking your dog from Villa 21
From Villa 21 you walk straight into the forest and dunes. So What holiday park sits on the edge of the forest and dunes of the Duinen van Texel National Park, between De Koog and Den Burg.
- Off the lead in the forest: in the Texel forests De Dennen and Krimbos dogs may run free as long as they come when called. On playgrounds, play meadows and near livestock the lead is compulsory.
- To the beach: the beach at Paal 17 is about 1.8 kilometres away. Outside the breeding season, from 1 September to 1 March, your dog may run free in designated stretches of beach.
- In the dunes: in the Duinen van Texel National Park your dog stays on the lead, just as in the village.

- Ground floor: bedroom with TV and its own bathroom, living and dining room with fireplace and smart TV, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, Nespresso machine and microwave, separate toilet.
- First floor: three bedrooms, bathroom with bathtub and shower, separate toilet.
- Outside: terrace, fully enclosed garden, garden shed to store and charge bikes, two private parking spaces at the door.
The fireplace is no luxury after a wet autumn walk. The ground-floor bedroom with its own bathroom is handy for anyone who prefers to avoid stairs, or for an older dog that wants to sleep by its owner.

Good to know
Going to Texel with your dog: the practical bits
- Crossing: the TESO ferry sails from Den Helder to ’t Horntje in about 20 minutes. From the port it is around 15 minutes by car to the villa. Check TESO’s current pet rules in advance.
- Check-in: between 15:00 and 17:00; check out before 10:00. If you arrive after 18:00, the key is in the mailbox at reception.
- Bring: your own basket, food bowls, towels for the dog and poo bags. On Texel you are required to clean up after your dog.
- Seals: if you see a seal on the beach, put your dog on the lead and keep at least 30 metres away.
