Ferry to Texel
You reach Texel by the TESO ferry between Den Helder and ’t Horntje. The crossing takes about twenty to thirty minutes and from the port it is a fifteen-minute drive to De Koog.
Crossing time and timetable
The ferry sails all year round, more often per day in high season than in winter. The crossing over the Marsdiep takes about twenty to thirty minutes.

By car or by bike
By car you drive straight onto the ferry; you pay per crossing and per vehicle. In high season it can help to reserve ahead when it is busy.
Cyclists and foot passengers travel on the same ferry and board at the side. From the ferry port at ’t Horntje it is about eight kilometres by bike to Villa 21.
With a dog or with children
- Dogs travel on the ferry and stay on the lead
- There is indoor seating; in fine weather the deck is the nicest spot
- By car: allow extra time when boarding in high season
- From the port it is about fifteen minutes by car to De Koog
